Dear Lord

Our last session 22.11.2009 on God is Love brought us a Teachable Moment
There is an area common in our lives where we are not surrendered to You
Is it any wonder its called Unforgiveness galore (we are sensitive girls afterall)
Besides being created, people can be challenging, demanding, dogmatic packaged into one confrontational aggressor. Well 'weird' kind-of describes the rest of the unmentionables.
No la. Don't be silly its not that bad. Just practising odious adjectives.
I suspect each of us probably only has one 'little enemy' at a time to stumble us.

if we don't meet them now perhaps we will, later in our working life
if not in church perhaps in poly or uni
if not at home then maybe in the street/shops

So help Sparkers Lord Jesus
Not to be tripped by sins of unforgiveness.
May your Word that does not change,
change our understanding of your Word.
As our ability to grasp becomes better,
So shall your truth be clearer.
Each time we read your Word. Amen.

Character of God: Love

We learned
The feelings of passionate lovers who eat forbidden fruit is not love.
Love is not about feelings.
Love is a deliberate determined decision to obey God.
Jn14:21,23
²¹ Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”
²² Judas (not Judas Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name) said to him, “Lord, why are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not to the world at large?”
²³ Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.

Commanded to love God and His family, we are to conduct ourselves and commit to love

even if
- family members are difficult demanding and naggy
- colleagues are indifferent lazy rude and rehearse backstabbing
- church members are superficial phoney tackless unresponsive
- friends are offensive clueless and hurtful
even if
- we are tired friendless lonely and misunderstood

So how? my beloved Sparkerling princesses
Like Job let us repent of our attitude and acknowledge God's great power and perfect justice.
Like Job we can't know all the reasons for everything that happens.
Thus we often must choose between anger and trust.
I have this box of unanswered questions with the Lord.
When I get to heaven, I will have the pleasure of Him telling me the answers.
We must decide and commit to trust God in good times
To build up our faith so that we can continue to navigate in bad times.

After receiving all that unwarranted criticism, Job was still able and willing to pray for his 3
buddies. Forgiving someone who wrongly accused you of something you didn't do can be tough, but Job did it.
^Matt6:14 “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. ¹⁵ But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Matt18:³⁵ “That’s what my heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters^m]">[m] from your heart.”

God says our love for others should be like the way He loves us.
Col 3:¹² Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. ¹³ Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. ¹⁴ Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. ¹⁵ And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

Dear Lord, grant us this desire. ^Col3:16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. ¹⁷ And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

So.......What were you all thinking when I spoke what was in my heart? I said
1.I am not sure if any of you can resist the wooing of one not after God's own heart, an unbeliever.
2.I am not sure if any of you can disentangle from a physical relationship that crosses No Man's Land.
Oooops.! Kel kel the Experienced got agitated with you for taking the accusation sitting down.

I threw my questions into my Q box in heaven of course.

Psalm 119:14
Rejoicing in God's Laws as much as in riches.
God's laws are given to free us to be all He wants us to be.They restrict us from doing those things that will cripple us and keep us from being our best. God's laws are guidelines to help us follow in His path and not wander onto paths that would lead to destruction.

Psalm 119:9
How can a young person stay pure?
By obeying your word.

³³ Teach me your decrees, O Lord;
I will keep them to the end.

I will put them into practice with all my heart.

I AM HOLY

Genesis 3:1-19 Lesson 2B
Adam and Eve learnt the hard way that God meant business when He demanded holiness and obedience.
Question asked. How did Eve view the fruit just before she took the first bite?
How do you think she viewed it the day after?
It is funny how we could identity with Eve so readily.
The following is everyone's contribution. Read at your own peril.

Naive Eve
She's so human. She is so woman.
Say Don't touch and instinctively little hands will reach out to touch it.
She craves wisdom. She's ambitious. She wants to have her eyes opened. She wants to know good and evil. She wants to be just like God.
We always feel its not enough for us, no matter how much we possess.
She bends God's words to fit her own agenda. Or was Adam's instructions so poor that it failed to communicate what God decreed. But for such an important injunction God would'nt just leave it to Adam so we thought. Eve must have got verbal warning from God Himself surely.
We treat God's Words very lightly even when it weighs heavily on our conscience
In the same humourous vein, this one gets the pun trophy.
She is "greedy" and hungry.
I must credit this to Annabel. All that studying has made her belly brillant.
Eve was convinced by a total stranger with bad advice.
Tsk tsk..sneaky snakey exploiting naive Eve
The man was worse. He did not bother with any decision. He just borrowed hers.

Eve was not about to revolt for woman's rights. She was merely thinking she has every right to explore some great possibilities. Of course the bonus is she gets to impress her man. So she thought.

If Eve did not disobey, Eunice is sure Eve's children would ultimately. Anyone of them could eat the fruit and so seal the world's destiny.
Very iffy but we fully agree. Wen Xin was a blast. She demonstrated how to pluck a fruit tree.

The Price Tag:
Astronomical consequences on the world today after Eve's decison and Adam's indecision.
Imperfect births. suffering. wickedness. crimes. cheating. curses. deplorable behaviour. division.
lies. pollution. strive.
So many things in life start with entertaining that little lie, so many things appear trivial that first instance. Like the friends we choose, the hobbies we persue, the courses and the institutes of study we select, the places of entertainment we go to. In fact we do so many things in life without even any consideration to God and His holiness. This is especially so in the areas of dating, falling in love, hanging out with friends....relationships.

Object lesson:
It may be wonderful to have male buddies but oftentimes this type of relationship may proof hazardous and too much to handle. Some might even envy those who have buddies who understand and are there for them when they are down.
Relationships with male pallies are not the easiest. You need to exercise lots of caution if you are so brave as to venture into an intimate one when this is not a boyfriend. Worse if he has a fiance and you have your boyfriend. So much for cyberchatting disguised cybercheating.
Those of us who are prone to flirting must be fully aware that when we give so many wrong signals, it will ultimately confuse rather than defuse.
Big sister K sounded the alarm against attention being showered on gals by guys. It can feel so flattering it will cause you to feel all fuzzy inside. Fortunately we have one so filled with experience amongst us. If you fall into this lovey category anytime in your life cycle,
do sign up for counselling from this source. She will fit you with an antenna for yourself and a monitor for herself.
Alas! I personally am such a plain Jane with neither good character nor good looks to boot. So I don't get to experience that dizzy feeling too many times. Only one ah beng fell for me hook line and sinker. He always maintained that I tricked him into marrying me. As if I had to resort to trickery!
Men. You can't live with them, you can't live without them.

Solution:
With regards to MSN or MSG away from prying eyes and other private dealings.
It is possible to prevent misunderstandings and to ward off untoward attention.
Try this.
Eg. If you are attracted to a red hairy married guy
Address him as Brother Rambutan or Uncle Rambutan
That should constantly remind you to stay away from his tuft
And he will definitely not misread your cues.

Stop Watch:
Hankypanky is not frowned upon today
They are in full bloom in our culture
Lots of exposed skin is permissible
What sort of people
do you think these people attract
Where you hang out
The company you keep
The movies you watch
The curses no more burn your ears
As 'immunity' builds up
If I can cause you to think

God's Will is purposeful, personal and practical.
Indeed God's Will is discoverable and doable for all redeemed by grace.
Do find the time to listen to it with an open Bible.

We can't even begin to imagine how holy God is.
"I am holy. You must be holy ."
It is God's Will for you to be holy. I Thes 4:3
God's will for me is good and pleasing and perfect in my life. Rom12:2
It is so important to begin to appreciate this.
Otherwise how could we even desire to pursue holiness for the sake of loving God
If we understand this we will co-operate with the Holy Spirit within us. I Thes 4:8

Beloved Sparkers
Our heavenly Father cares deeply about every nuance of our life
Know that He is always present and involved as you balance studies, work and seeking life partners
I pray that He will still us, stir us and strengthen us as we pass through this season of our life
We are on a special journey together to see God as He longs to be seen by us
Unite as we pursue a life long adventure in learning to love God with our heart and soul and mind.

is probably how we see God in our life. Not very serious one Just for laughs.

Debbie says: Me and My warm jacket. I only have one. (O loyal faithful Deb)

Jun: Me and My eraser which I carry in my pencil box all the time. To erase the mistakes I make. (cute)

Eunice says: Me and My rather big imagined rock. I have to sit on it when I am super stressed and when I am jittery to protect others from super stress. (welcome to Sentosa Beach breakwaters)

Unti;P says: Electrical appliance plugged in on standby mode. I have the controls, to switch it on or off whenever I want to use it. It is very helpful like a vacuum cleaner.

Diana: Me and My medicine. I know it is good for me but sometimes I just refuse to take it. (Ok lor . :)) )

Jeanette: Me and My hair conditioner. I tend to use it when I have time on my hands only. Likewise I spend time with God when I feel the I have time to spare. (Solution: use 2 in one, shampoo with conditioner like all of us with panicky hair. Come to think of it, yr hair does appear > cultivated than ours )

Kellyn: Special Etzy link card which I use to pay for everything as long as I have my breath esp for transport.It is breathtaking because it is linked to mom's bank account. Giro~ed some more, which effectively means it will never run out, even when I am running after the bus. No need top up one. (I also want one)

Wenx: Me and My blanket. I feel niz to know its around. When it gets cold faithful blanket will hug my legs. But I will not reach out to it even if I get the chills cos that will wake me up fully in the middle of my sleep. >L<.I am a very light sleeper. If I kick it off the bed occasionally, it is non intentional. ( wenx, your legs don't get to sleep much when you are sleeg. That's y they fall asleep when you are standg. hah!)

Annabel: Me and My blanket. It gets comfortable when it is cold and I have my comforter. ~(i@) zzzz (The way you relish your moment of sleep, I can even feel your 18C air-con.)

Audrey: Its like Nana my bestest fren. I tell her everything that's happening to me. (standby Nana we need you to answer Qs directed @ Audrey')

Angela: Described her relationship with God as Undescribable perhaps. God is present all the time all the way. Even when she is with friends, God does not go missing. God is especially close at the end of each day when there is a need to pray. Basically Angela finds it weird to restrict God to a thing, anything.

So there it is.
