Dear all who care to drop in @ this blog
Are u all thankful for the long wkend break?
Blessed are the gratefuls.
I guess for v young children its a enjoyable time
But my CNY memories were v non exciting.
a little dreadful as i recall. there was no big $ to fatten my lean piggy bank
in our era, (Moses Lim's as well) it ws common for parents to confiscate all angpows
to compensate tem for their loss. my parents are born mathematicians
took me many yrs to understand why my parents did that to us
but now i do. i hav changed $1000 new notes 3 times to fulfill my obligations
i cant bring myself to "cong kong" my children's angpows
but they wouldnt let me too. I hav felt v short changed all these years compared to my peers
i wouldnt wish my kids to have bad memories of CNY
i was made to visit places i dint really want to go
i couldnt join my frens for our own 'walk around'
this year is the las year i'll b spending CNY in this house
We hav to go in may/june
haven't found God's next home for us.
Monday 2nd day CNY:
We had a great time of catchg up & fellowshipg with Jerry, Yau Seng & Lai Hock
they dropped in to visit
Jerry had to go back to India same eveng. Lookg back
God gav Angorians this priviledge of hostg him while he studied n worked in our country
not to mention he shared his musical talents n wit w us
till this day he is grateful for the friendship and extension of love fr Angorians
he acknowledges that becos he was shown love he has learnt love
and now in his university, church ministry he is able to replicate that which he had experienced
Praise God. God sent him back to encourage us/me to carry on this trait n not b weary
Before they left we prayed for his needs
and this particular effort helped us focus on God whom we can call on
in gd times n bad
to review the purpose of all that we do
heh this effort to pray when we meet
is refreshg n often forgotten
in the midst of merry making n joyful reunions
it is so blessed that wen we come tog we do not fail to pray
pastor does it so intuitively so effortlessly
practise drives apathy away
it was a memorable visit - for me
a lesson taught to me in my home.
3rd day CNY
BS gp parents n children came to visit
to c my house a las time
to play w my power rangers
i had to reassure them my power rangers will not be left behind
so do not fear my little ones
for yr precious rangers will be coming w us.
a typhoon no.10 has gone thro Mattias toy room jus now
now i got to go repair the damage.
so bye now and pray
for my needs are great n God has not spoken
my spirits are disquieted and ebbing
i know not what the future holds
but i know who holds my hand.
Amen.
Yes. Any day is a blessed day when God is allowed in it.
Even CNY, Kellyn.
Lots of love fr yr unti Kooool!

first day of CNY 29Jan NO SS.
we hope to change the format of SS this year
perhaps to run mor like a cell gp
we aim to study individually always
let the Holy Spirit teach ea of us
so that wen we come tog each sunday
we can pray n encourage ea o/r.
last sunday's topic was:-
sometimes we got to wait for God to speak
let us not crowd our lives with endless things
let us train ourselves to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit
so that each of us can fulfill His purpose for the year
by getting into the habit of speaking to God
pondering over what the Bible teaches
and reviewing our actions and behaviour every now and then.
As a grp,Sparkers should strive to help one a/r
before we can claim that we can reach out to o/rs
wld like to encourage u to' feed' yourself
commit to regular self study
reading systematically thro the Bible
to read Christian literature
and to share with the grp when God has spoken to u.
hope to receive more input as to what our grp aims to do.
pl bring this orange sheet again next wk
on your own please run thro the wksheet on the Sabbath(Lev23-26)
self expanatory.
u b surprised to discover many Christians do not keep the Sabbath
study for yrself to c whether u hav been keepg the Sabbath.
Come prepared to ans. especially the last Q
Sori for piling this on. it ws left over fr last yr

HELLO!!! I"M BACK!! (to the blog).. Ha ha.. got you there right? Let's update Untip about all that happened while she wasn't around... We had a wonderful time together.. at least I did!!
A group of us met at Vic's place. Nette, Vic, Huishien, Angel, Bel, Audrey, Ah xin, Joachim, Ben, Nigel, Andre, Matthew, Ximin, Christina, Terence, Boon Hock, Val, Debra and myself. Not everyone stayed eventually but we had lots of fun!!
The youths first met at Vic's place for dinner (pizza & lots of other food). Think they played "barbecue" and Nintendo 64 until the young adults arrived. Val and myself then led all of us with some games. The forfeit was hilarious!! Matt, Nigel, Joa and Andre had to act out a labour scene, as in woman in labour??? And... WE GOT IT DOWN IN VIDEO (Guys, if you happen to be reading this, you gotta work hard at stopping us from showing others the video.....). We played for about an hour or so.. then came DIANA's time!!! A time of reflection and thanksgiving. Terence and Boon Hock took the guys and I took the ladies.
Honestly, I was and am so encouraged by how serious all of you were.. most of the spaces filled up with words.. could see from your expressions that you were seriously pondering.. we had a time of sharing after that about our goals for year 2006. Good sharing session... fun one too!!
A most unforgettable game followed... food game.. with a twist.. kinda hard to describe.. in short, I ate the yuckiest food of the year!!! The rest of the night was spent watching "Freaky Friday" and playing games. We slept at about 5 (those who slept). Woke up at about 7:30?? to swim... refreshing experience.. so cold.. fun though... after that, all of us were tired.. showered, packed up and Home, sweet, home... Was happy to see all of you in church.. You were all angels to agree to write in the card to Uncle Alfred and Auntie Len Leng. Ha ha Untip, you chose the right sunday to not be in church cos we had thanksgiving service. We only had to be in church at 6. Everyone stayed for the service. There wasn't any sunday school for youths and children. Kel and I didn't have to prepare for anything!!!
That's all about New Year's Eve and New Year Day... Have a few questions:
(Please answer them... Please......)
- How are all of you in keeping with your goals?
- How's Untip? Know that Amos just started to serve the nation today.
- All of you remember anything from Thanksgiving service?
I'll share what I remember in the next blog....
