We had a meeting with the children ministry planners.
It is really honourable for this couple to offer themselves
for God's service in this way.
Their lives revolve around including God in their plans.
They relocate nearer church to facilitate zero traveling
Noah got to come to the PPH-ark instead.
A little bird told us we are welcome to use their home when they move in.
Great. We shall gate crash cos I have not received an official invitation yet

I guess for years the church have grouped the pri 5&6s with the Children ministry.
Traditionally Sec 1 means change school, change uniform, a little more freedom
and promo to Youth Ministry. That was convenient. That was acceptable and could be done. But like gorezillion yrs ago. (youthful lingo haw)

Look at the kids this millennium
They mature faster, are better informed, better wired ubber high tec
and more ...arrogant? cos really they know alot
So our fellow workers might be right after all
pri 5&6 may be a good age to break and form a separate cohort
Well my initial 'selfish thought' is that youths in YF are already spread very thin.
My survivor instinct at work. or maternal instinct. Whatever. anything.
I am grateful that many youths are already serving in their best capacity.

Well I got a reminder from God as I read Acts2:42-47 the sermon passage on "Fellowship is not about potluck"
I missed Albert Lee's sermon today cos I accompanied Mattias to class.
My lord ah Beng said Albert gave a good msg and was not himself today. Albert was very serious. This I got to hear. You see Albert is a real foodie as evidenced by his XXL for years. He said he knows where to get all the best food.Where Albert is there is food to quote my friend who used to work with him. A well fed man is a funny man.
Back to Acts2
The Christians in Jerusalem shared all they had so that all could benefit from God;s blessings. Sometimes having lots of money and possessions can tempt people to isolate themselves from others, each enjoying his or her own little piece of the world. But as part of God's spiritual family, we have a responsibility to help one another in every way possible. God's family works best when its members work together.

I have to listen to Albert's msg on the web this week.
Meanwhile I shall pray that God will bless Pam and Alvin and Sylvia's efforts
and show them the best way to pursue God's heart.
Logically speaking this foundation work, tilling and plowing will benefit the YF as they cross over.

That's my worldly thinking. Good9t

Dear photogenic dearies

Pastor Lau Pak Soon preached an excellent msg to our congregation today.
Did you appreciate it?
He did not really give the background of Saul's disobedience so perhaps
anyone new will have difficulty following him.

I appreciate this courageous brother-in-Christ took time today to bless us. I recall
Pastor Lau used to be a missionary pastor of an orphanage in Cambodia.
About 2 yrs ago,he had to return to Singapore suddenly for an emergency gastrectomy because he was diagnosed with cancer of the stomach. Doctors here removed his tumour and part of his stomach.Praise God he is still serving God faithfully despite having journeyed through the valley of death.
To him God's Word is remarkably clear on alot of current issues we deem 'controversial'
Adultery divorce remarriage homosexual relationships are all written in the Bible. We know what pleases God.
Sinning is pleasurable to the sinner.
If it is not so, then who will want to continue to sin? Hmmmm Makes sense.

Deuteronomy6:3 Listen closely,Israel, and be careful to obey. Then all will go well with you, and you will have many children in the land flowing with milk and honey....

God's Word must be heard, understood and obeyed.
In essence - mostly obey.
That's better than giving God our sacrifices.

Rmb HEAR
H eed God's warning and guidancce
E ndeavour to obey completely
A gree with God's wisdom and judgement
R epent when confronted

The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. 2 Chronicles16:9 What happens when you disobey?
The sins we commit behind closed doors will have an impact that goes beyond that door. It will affect our siblings our family our nation. Think -Gambling, Movies loaded with sex and violence.

Could you follow why the Lord rejected Saul as King of Israel?
Read this sad account played out in 1Sam 15:13
Saul thought he had won a big victory over the Amalekites. God however saw it as a great failure because Saul had disobeyed Him.Saul also lied to Samuel. He tried to justify himself and shifted the blame onto his soldiers. Dishonest people soon begin to believe their own lies. Dishonesty puts up a barrier between God and us and also others. Saul paid a high price for his dishonesty and disobedience. What problems has dishonesty created in your life?

The speakers words struck me like lightning when he admonished
Your sacrifice of ? perhaps coming to worship God Sunday after Sunday
out of habit, out of duty, hurriedly, carelessly, leisurely, irreverently?
is unacceptable to God if it is without

-an attitude of obedience
-intention to honour God
-devotion to God

He concludes
Pay close attention to God's Word
Obey it wholeheartedly
Take responsibility for our wrongs
Never rationalise away our sins.

Dear God we are sorry our hearts are so calloused.
We are such delinquents. We take your mercy for granted
Lord renew our hearts
You detest our burnt sacrifices
we char these with our pride
You rather have our obedience
than the fat of rams
Will try O Lord Will try
Sorry we make You cry.

If any of you were touched by God today
do let your pool overflow and refresh our souls

1Samuel 15:22 To obey is better than sacrifice, and
to heed is better than the fat of rams.
Amen
